Mahama Ayariga, the Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, has expressed his disappointment and loss of faith in the government’s anti-corruption agencies.

In a recent interview on GHOne TV, he revealed that he has approached various anti-corruption institutions with cases, but none have yielded any significant results.

Ayariga cited the example of the Bank of Ghana building and the unexplained price adjustments, which he had brought to the attention of the Office of the Special Prosecutor.

However, despite his follow-ups, there has been no progress or update on the matter. He expressed his doubts about receiving any attention or action from the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) either.

According to Ayariga, the current government has rendered all institutions responsible for fighting corruption ineffective.

He believes that the person primarily responsible for combating corruption has shown no interest in doing so, leading to a lack of traction in his efforts to address corruption cases.

He lamented that citizens’ initiatives to fight corruption are often met with unfruitful outcomes due to the government’s inaction.
