The Member of Parliament for Asawase and NDC Parliamentary Candidate, Alhaji Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, has pledged his dedication to peaceful elections in the constituency.

On November 18, Alhaji Muntaka took an oath before traditional and religious leaders, security agencies, and Electoral Commission officials, committing to uphold peace before, during, and after the December polls.
He assured stakeholders of his commitment to preserving the integrity of the electoral process and avoiding actions that could incite violence or hinder the work of the Electoral Commission.

Alhaji Muntaka further called on his NPP opponent, Manaf Ibrahim, to make a similar public commitment to ensure a smooth and peaceful election.
“It is not only deploying thugs to disrupt the election process that constitutes violence. Interfering in the work of the Electoral Commission or colluding with its officers to skew the process in favour of any candidate is equally detrimental.
“I have sworn not to interfere in their work and to respect the electoral laws. By the God who created me, I vow to uphold this commitment.”
He further expressed his readiness to accept the election results, noting his gratitude to the people of Asawase for entrusting him with their representation in Parliament for five consecutive terms.

Muntaka’s gesture is seen as a significant step toward ensuring a peaceful electoral process in a constituency often considered a hotspot during elections.
