In the Eastern Region’s Akotoe community, a tragic discovery was made when a young woman’s body was found floating in River Afram under mysterious circumstances.
Locals stumbled upon the body near the river’s shore and immediately alerted community elders. A group was assembled the next morning to investigate, and they uncovered disturbing evidence suggesting foul play.

The victim, believed to be 18 years old, was found with a sack filled with stones tied around her waist, indicating an attempt to conceal her body.
However, the weight of the stones failed to submerge her, leaving her visible. Authorities were promptly alerted, and an official report was filed with the police.
Akor Samuel Odehi, the District Director of the National Disaster Management Organization, confirmed the incident to Kasapa FM.
He stated that the community reported finding a young woman’s body with a sack of stones tied around her waist, indicating a deliberate attempt to hide her body. However, the body remained floating, suggesting a failed attempt to conceal her.
The community is on edge as speculation surrounds the circumstances of the young woman’s death, which comes amidst a series of mysterious killings of women in the Krobo enclave.
One suspect has been arrested and allegedly confessed to the killings, claiming he was hired by a chop bar operator for ritual purposes.
