Phyllis Naa Koryoo Okunnor, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Awutu Senya East, cast her vote at the Steps to Christ Centre, which experienced gun violence during the 2020 elections.

Reflecting on the challenges of the past, Okunnor expressed confidence in securing a 68% victory, drawing from lessons learned during the previous election.
“I am looking at a 67.9% for both JDM and Naa Koryoo,” she stated.
Adding, “There are a lot of things I want to bring on board. You know I am a very young person. I am very dynamic. So there are a lot of things I will be bringing on board to change Kasoa, to change the narrative, to rebrand Kasoa, to change the bad name that has been given over the years.”
The parliamentary candidate had earlier called for additional security in the areas that had been tagged as flashpoints in the constituency, adding that she is yet to see the additional security detail in the constituency.
