The Coalition of NABCO Trainees has urgently appealed to the National Peace Council to intervene in their ongoing issue with unpaid allowances dating back to 2021.

Representing numerous frustrated trainees, the group is increasingly alarmed by the persistent delay in payments and has warned of a planned mass demonstration at Jubilee House if the issue remains unresolved.

This protest is set to occur one week before the national elections.

In their formal petition to the National Peace Council, the coalition detailed how the unpaid arrears have severely affected their livelihoods and raised concerns about potential national security implications.

Despite submitting multiple petitions to the Office of the President and various ministries, they have yet to see any resolution, leading them to escalate their actions.

The coalition views the intervention of the National Peace Council as crucial not only for resolving their financial issues but also for maintaining peace during the sensitive election period.

They have requested that the council engage directly with the President to expedite the resolution of their arrears. With their patience running thin, they stress the need for immediate government action to avert unrest.

David Peterson, along with representatives Nana Tachie Eric, Deborah Enam Sogbey, and Nana Berimah Asamoah, signed the petition.

They are hopeful that the Peace Council’s involvement will stabilize the situation and ensure a peaceful election.

The coalition’s appeal underscores the urgency of the matter and the need for a prompt response to avoid disruptions during this critical time.
