The electorate has been urged to prioritize competence over religion or any other factors when casting their votes in the upcoming elections.

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, known as ‘NAPO’ and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Vice Presidential Candidate, emphasized the necessity of having a capable leader for the country’s progress.

NAPO asserted that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, a devoted Muslim, is the most qualified and appropriate candidate to lead the nation as president at this time.

During his campaign tour in the Ashanti Region on Friday, specifically in Afrancho within the Afigya Kwabre South Constituency, he stated that Ghanaians are united by a common destiny.

He encouraged the citizenry to choose a president based on the candidate’s knowledge and ability to lead effectively.

“In choosing the next president of our beloved country, I urge you to vote for the candidate who can uphold the progress made over the past eight years.”

Napo, addressing an audience that included traditional leaders and Imams, emphasized that Ghanaians are fortunate to have historically lived in peace and harmony.

He expressed particular appreciation for the religious harmony present in the nation and commended chiefs for their roles in fostering peaceful coexistence.

“Chiefs are neither Muslims nor pastors, yet they allow their lands to be used for the establishment of churches and mosques, which exemplifies the beauty of being Ghanaian.

“We respect one another because what unites us as Ghanaians is far greater than any differences. Therefore, we should let this guide our voting decisions in favor of competence.

“It doesn’t matter where a person comes from or their religion. What truly matters is what they can achieve as president to lead our country toward prosperity,” he advised.
