The New Patriotic Party’s Vice-Presidential candidate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO), has urged party supporters to avoid “skirt and blouse” voting in the upcoming December 7 elections.

He emphasized the importance of voting for both the NPP’s presidential and parliamentary candidates to ensure a cohesive government.

Speaking to supporters during a mini rally at Bekwai as part of his campaign tour, Dr. Prempeh highlighted that electing NPP parliamentary candidates alongside the presidential candidate is crucial for securing a majority in Parliament.

In the 2008 elections, an independent candidate won the parliamentary seat in Bekwai, a scenario Dr. Prempeh is keen to avoid this time.

He attributed that outcome to disunity within the party and urged supporters to vote for both the NPP’s presidential and parliamentary candidates.

Dr. Prempeh remarked, “We didn’t win the 2008 parliamentary elections in Bekwai because of disunity.

I have heard that many of you would vote ‘skirt and blouse.’ I’m appealing to you all to vote for the NPP parliamentary candidate and presidential candidate. We need development in the Bekwai Constituency.”
