Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Vice Presidential Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has reaffirmed the party’s dedication to supporting sustainable small-scale mining in Ghana.

Speaking at a campaign event in Seyerano within the Sefwi Juaboso Constituency of the Western North Region, he outlined plans to provide essential resources such as equipment, financial aid, and technical training to miners if Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia becomes president.

During a gathering attended by Chiefs, Queen Mothers, religious leaders, and residents, Dr. Prempeh emphasized the importance of voting for the NPP, highlighting the need to address opposition from the NDC Minority in Parliament to advance development.

He assured mining communities of the NPP’s commitment to environmentally responsible mining while opposing illegal activities that harm the environment.

Additionally, Dr. Prempeh spoke to students of the College of Health in Sefwi Asafo about the NPP government’s achievements, including the Free Senior High School (SHS) program and the restoration of allowances previously removed under the Mahama administration. He encouraged them to support the NPP, noting its strides in educational equity, including increased gender parity in schools.

Meanwhile, a Queen Mother from the Bia East Constituency voiced her support for the NPP, challenging the local NDC MP to show evidence of his contributions to development, affirming that progress in her area has been driven by the NPP.

Sefwi Akontombra MP, Alex Tetteh, also reaffirmed the NPP’s commitment to impactful development across the country.
