Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as NAPO, has bid farewell to his Manhyia South constituency, where he served as Member of Parliament for 16 years.

This departure comes as he has been selected by the party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to be his running mate for the 2024 general elections.

At a gathering of party executives in the constituency, NAPO thanked the party and constituents for their support throughout his tenure.

He also asked the residents of Manhyia South, particularly NPP executives and members, to continue supporting him in his new role.

“It’s extremely difficult to say goodbye to my beloved Manhyia South Constituency after 16 consecutive years of service to my people,” he said.

The NPP running mate urged his constituents to fully support Lawyer Baffuor Awuah, his successor, in winning the upcoming election and continuing the development of the area.

“Lawyer Baffuor Awuah will be succeeding me as your MP so please make me the “Abusuapanin” to wit ‘head of the family’ in Manhyia South Constituency, henceforth,” he added.
