The Vice-Presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has accused the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) of running a ‘sakawa’ government.

While addressing student nurses at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital Nursing and Midwifery Training School, Dr. Opoku Prempeh stated that internet fraud, commonly referred to as ‘sakawa,’ had significantly declined under the current administration.
He cautioned that if the NDC were to return to power, these illegal activities would resurface, urging the nursing trainees to vote against the NDC in the upcoming election.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh also assured the trainees of his commitment to upholding their allowances and providing opportunities for them to work abroad, including in Canada.
“All they know is Sakawa. It is only when NDC is in power that ‘Sakawa’ resurges. When you make a mistake by voting for the NDC they will bring ‘sakawa’. We have 5 days more to go to the polls and everyone is going to vote for Dr Bawumia and the NPP.
“In the new NPP manifesto, we have said two things. We said we would continue with the payment of the allowances. We will also start exporting nurses and teachers.
“So if we can’t get a place for you to work, we will put you together and export you to Canada”, he stated.
