The National Tenants Union of Ghana (NATUG) has expressed its support for the housing policies of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), stating that they align with the union’s objectives.

After evaluating proposals from various political parties, NATUG commended the NDC’s initiatives to transform the Rent Control Department into an independent Rent Authority, introduce low-interest rent advance schemes, and promote affordable housing options.
In contrast, NATUG criticized the housing promises made by the New Patriotic Party (NPP), describing them as “recycled, unfulfilled, and broken.”

This endorsement comes as John Dramani Mahama, the NDC flagbearer, has made low-cost housing a key priority for Ghanaians.
“After comparing the housing policies of both parties, the National Tenants’ Union of Ghana has chosen to endorse the housing proposals of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).”
The group urged the NDC to fully implement these policies if elected, to address the housing challenges many Ghanaians face, and emphasized the need to hold Mahama accountable in 2028 should he win the elections.
