The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has condemned remarks made by Bryan Acheampong, MP for Abetifi and Food and Agric Minister, suggesting the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will stop at nothing to secure victory in the upcoming elections.

Godwin Edudzi Tameklo, NDC’s Director of Legal Affairs, denounced Acheampong’s statement as reckless and deserving of electoral punishment.

Acheampong’s controversial comment, made during a campaign rally in Nsawam-Adoagyiri, boasted of the NPP’s diverse membership and declared, “We’ll win at all costs, even if it means burning the sea!” He confidently proclaimed the NPP an unbeatable “election-winning machine.”

Edudzi Tameklo, appearing on TV3’s Big Issue on August 12, slammed Acheampong’s remark as “irresponsible” and warned Ghanaians to hold the NPP accountable for such rhetoric at the polls.

He emphasized that the NDC will not tolerate such undemocratic sentiments.

In a scathing rebuke, Edudzi Tameklo asserted that Acheampong’s comment exposes the NPP’s desperation and disregard for democratic principles.

He urged voters to reject the NPP’s win-at-all-costs mentality and instead choose a party committed to democratic values.
