The Roads and Highways Minister, Francis Asenso Boakye, has asserted that the current government has significantly outperformed the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in road construction and is steadfast in its commitment to improving Ghana’s infrastructure.

His remarks came in response to NDC Flagbearer John Dramani Mahama’s inquiry regarding the locations of the roads that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) claims to have constructed.
According to Asenso Boakye, the NDC is unsettled by the extensive road developments achieved under the Nana Addo-Bawumia administration, which has prompted John Mahama to question the whereabouts of these roads.
“As we have stated before, since 2017, from when Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia assumed office until the end of 2023, this government has constructed or added 12,830 km of roads to the network.
Our solid and unprecedented achievements in the road sector are a major source of frustration for the opposition, leading even the former president to wonder where these roads are,” he said.
Asenso Boakye made these comments during the launch of the dualisation of the 23 km Tafo-Mampong road in Kumasi.
