The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially launched the interview process for individuals seeking to serve as Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in the Ashanti region.
This initiative is part of the party’s strategy to secure skilled, committed, and forward-thinking leadership at the local government level. It has generated considerable enthusiasm among party members throughout the region.

The interview process, which will span three days, is designed to evaluate candidates from all 43 metropolitan, municipal, and district areas within the region.
The first day focuses on 11 MMDAs, with 88 aspirants participating in the extensive vetting process.
A total of 343 applicants will have the opportunity to present their qualifications, leadership skills, and visions for their communities to the selection committee.
NDC’s regional leadership has emphasised the importance of the exercise, describing it as a crucial step in identifying leaders who can effectively implement the party’s development agenda at the grassroots level.
Applicants are required to demonstrate a deep understanding of the socio-economic dynamics of their respective areas.
They are also expected to outline practical strategies to address issues such as unemployment, inadequate infrastructure, sanitation, and access to education and healthcare.
