Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, the Member of Parliament for Korle Klottey, has criticized the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for failing to effectively promote its achievements and defend its legacy.

In an interview on GHOne TV on June 27, 2024, she noted that the NDC has allowed the New Patriotic Party (NPP) governments to take credit for projects initiated by the NDC.

Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings specifically highlighted the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) as an example of an NDC project that has been credited to the NPP.

She revealed that the NHIS was conceived during her father, former President Jerry John Rawlings’, era and was piloted in some parts of the country.

She emphasized that the NDC’s achievements in expanding electricity access and other projects are often overlooked, and the party needs to do a better job of marketing its accomplishments.

The MP stressed that the NDC must take credit for its accomplishments and defend its legacy more effectively.

She pointed out that many projects commissioned by the NPP were actually started by the NDC, and contracts signed under the NDC are now being fulfilled under the NPP.

Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings’ comments highlight the importance of political parties promoting their achievements and defending their legacy to maintain public trust and support.
