In a statement released on January 7, 2025, following her swearing-in ceremony, the group described her appointment as a monumental step forward for gender equity and women’s empowerment in Ghana and beyond.

They commended her as an accomplished academic, trailblazer, and leader who has broken barriers and inspired countless women to pursue greater aspirations.

“Your achievement is a beacon of hope and progress for women across the nation, affirming that leadership has no gender barriers. It reflects your steadfast dedication to serving Ghana with integrity, compassion, and a vision for inclusive growth,” the statement read.

The group also lauded the progressive policies being championed under the NDC government, particularly the establishment of the Women’s Development Bank and the provision of free sanitary pads for schoolgirls.

“These initiatives signify a commitment to empowering women economically and ensuring the dignity and well-being of young girls—a cause close to the hearts of all Ghanaian women,” they said.

They highlighted the transformative impact of the Women’s Development Bank, which promises to enhance women’s access to capital, support female entrepreneurs, and drive economic growth.

Additionally, they noted that the free sanitary pad policy addresses a critical challenge for many young girls, ensuring uninterrupted education and promoting gender equality in schools.

“As Ghanaian women, we hold high expectations for this new chapter in our country’s history. We look forward to the implementation of policies that promote equity, inclusivity, and sustainable development for all.

Your leadership assures us that the voices of women will be amplified, their contributions recognized, and their challenges addressed with urgency and empathy,” the group concluded.
