Supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have locked several warehouses owned by district assemblies in the Northern Region, which store essential relief supplies for those affected by ongoing droughts and flooding in Tamale.

The government had sent relief materials, including fertilizer, rice, oil, and agrochemicals, to various districts in the north to aid farmers who lost their agricultural lands.

However, these supplies remain confined in the warehouses, with plans to distribute them only after the elections.

In a similar development, NDC supporters in the Chereponi District of the North East Region also locked multiple relief warehouses on December 9, further delaying the delivery of crucial aid to vulnerable communities.

The actions have raised concerns about the timely delivery of assistance to those in dire need of support due to the ongoing environmental challenges in the region.
