Nurein Shaibu Migyimah, the suspended Parliamentary Candidate for the Assin Central constituency, has responded to the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) decision to suspend him.

In an interview with Joy News, Migyimah urged his supporters to remain calm, describing the situation as a “nightmare” and expressing confidence in his vindication through the party’s structures.

Migyimah denied receiving any official notification from the party but revealed he is taking steps to ensure a fair hearing.

He believes the allegations against him are unfounded and will not hinder his chances of winning the election on December 7.

Migyimah’s suspension came after the NDC’s Functional Executive Committee (FEC) in the Central Region petitioned the party’s General Secretary to withdraw his candidature.

The party alleged Migyimah impregnated the wife of a party member, Sadique Broni Yeboah, and relocated her to a rented apartment in Kasoa.

The decision followed an investigation that included audio recordings and interactions among the involved parties.

The party views Migyimah’s actions as a severe breach of discipline, affecting the constituency secretary’s performance and tarnishing the party’s image.

By withdrawing Migyimah’s candidature, the NDC aims to set a precedent against immorality and safeguard its reputation.

Migyimah remains optimistic about his chances, stating, “I believe, and I know that whatever allegation, anything they’ve said or whatever it is, after I go through the right party structures, I’ll be vindicated. God being so good, God willing, ‘Inshallah’, on December 7, I’m going to win the election.”
