The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has issued a statement cautioning residents in the Eastern Region against being deceived by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s upcoming campaign tour.

The NDC alleges that Dr. Bawumia has a history of spreading falsehoods and misleading the public.

Dr. Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is scheduled to begin his campaign on Monday, April 29, 2024, in the Eastern Region, where he will engage with various stakeholders, including traditional leaders, the clergy, youth, traders, drivers, farmers, and students.

However, the NDC has criticized Dr. Bawumia’s alleged deceptive tactics, urging citizens in the region to be vigilant and not fall for his “perennial lies.”

The party has also accused the NPP of fabricating achievements and engaging in misleading practices through its Performance Tracker, which the NDC claims is riddled with lies, deceit, and misinformation.

The NDC has posed several questions to Dr. Bawumia, including requests for a comprehensive list of completed projects in the Eastern Region and explanations for discrepancies within the Performance Tracker.

The party has also highlighted its own achievements in the region, including the establishment of the Abetifi Referral Hospital, the University of Environmental and Sustainable Development, and several water projects.

According to the NDC, its tenure witnessed a “paradigm shift” in infrastructure and development projects, marked by landmark achievements such as the construction of Community Day SHS facilities, town road networks, and chip compounds.

The party claims that these projects symbolize monumental progress in the Eastern Region, in contrast to the perceived shortcomings of the current administration.
