Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament for North Tongu, has announced that the NDC is committed to maintaining their protests until the Electoral Commission agrees to conduct a forensic audit of the 2024 voter roll.

Approximately 12,000 residents from all 18 constituencies in the Volta Region have gathered in the streets of Ho Municipality to support the NDC’s “Enough Is Enough” demonstration, calling for a forensic audit of the 2024 voter register.

After presenting a petition to the Volta Regional Office of the Electoral Commission, Ablakwa stated that the party will continue to apply pressure until their demands are met.

“You can expect that this is just the first step. After this demonstration, we expect that they will heed the demands of the people; the justifiable, legitimate demand of the Ghanaian people for an audit. We are not asking for much. You can choose independent auditors to carry out this audit, we are not asking for much.

“However,  if they refuse to heed our demand, expect even more demonstrations. We will decentralise to the district level and we will continue to demonstrate until our demand for a credible free and fair elections, our demand for a credible register is met,” he stated.
