Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe, the Head of Public Relations Strategy at the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has dismissed circulating claims that GFA President Kurt Okraku plans to run for a third term.

Mortagbe called the rumors baseless and urged the public to disregard them until an official statement is issued by the GFA president.

In an interview with Connect 97.1FM, Mortagbe explained that the speculation about Okraku’s third-term ambitions is unfounded. He emphasized that the conversation is purely speculative and should be treated as such.

“Until there is an official statement or tangible evidence supporting such claims, I advise everyone to treat it as a mere rumor,” Mortagbe said.

He further added that Okraku has consistently reminded the association that he has only three years left to fulfill his promises to the football ecosystem.

“At the FA, Kurt always reminds us he has only three years left to achieve what he promised,” Mortagbe noted.

The rumors of a possible third term for Kurt Okraku had sparked concerns among some football fans and stakeholders, with critics arguing that such a move could undermine fair governance within Ghanaian football.

Despite the growing speculation, Mortagbe urged calm and advised football followers not to jump to conclusions.

He reaffirmed that Okraku’s presidency has faced various criticisms, especially regarding consistency in the national teams and building trust within the local football community.
