The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has established a nine-member committee to scrutinise documents of parliamentary candidates ahead of parliamentary filing.
The move aims to ensure that all candidates meet the necessary Electoral Commission requirements for filing nominations.
The Committee, chaired by private legal practitioner Frank Davies is responsible for verifying all documents submitted by each candidate, ensuring compliance with EC’s regulations and requirements and compiling a comprehensive report detailing each candidate’s compliance status.
According to a statement signed by the party’s General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, the committee is expected to commence work immediately, starting Tuesday, July 23, 2024.
The Party has expressed confidence in the committee’s ability to execute its duties with diligence, ensuring that only qualified and compliant candidates are fielded by the party.
