Nigeria’s U-20 team, the Flying Eagles, narrowly defeated Ghana’s Black Satellites in the WAFU B U-20 final at Stade Kegue on Wednesday night.

Both teams had already secured their spots in the upcoming U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) by reaching the final.

The fierce rivals met in a high-stakes match, each aiming for the ultimate bragging rights and the WAFU Zone B Championship title.

Nigeria took the lead when Kparobo Arierhi opened the scoring at 34 minutes.

Arierhi struck again just before halftime with a well-placed finish, doubling Nigeria’s advantage as Ghana struggled to match their intensity.

In the second half, Ghana’s Black Satellites fought hard to break through, but Nigeria maintained control.

However, Ghana’s star player, Jerry Afriyie, scored his fifth goal of the tournament with 15 minutes remaining, setting up a tense finish.

Nigeria’s defense held firm under pressure, securing the WAFU Zone B U-20 Championship.
