Nigerian Army intercept Boko Haram, kill over 25 in attempted attack in Borno State

As gathered by GhanaTalksRadio, the Boko Haram terrorists attempted to attack Asila Uba in Borno State, but the Nigerian army units with air support killed more than 25 Boko Haram terrorists and captured their equipment.

The insurgents, who attacked with 11 gun trucks and were suspected to have come from Sambisa Forest, on Wednesday launched an attack on the community, leading to a fierce clash between them and the troops.

Askira Uba is about 190 kilometers away from the state capital Maiduguri and shares borders with the local government areas of Biu, Chibok, Gwoza and Hawul. The town is also much close to the Sambisa forest – which is known to be the heartland of Boko Haram base.

Since the inception of Boko Haram, alongside its branch Islamic State in West Africa, they have killed thousands and displaced millions in northeastern Nigeria. The terrorist organization wants an Islamic caliph in the area.
