Nigerian singer Paul Okoye urges Nigerians ‘fasten their seatbelt’ as economy bites hard

Singer Paul Okoye has asked Nigerians to fasten their seatbelts as the cost of living and foodstuffs has increased steeply.

Most recently, the newly elected president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has removed the fuel subsidy, sending the prices of fuel 3 times higher. With the effect of the subsidy removal, transportation fares and food prices have immensely skyrocket. Other parasternal and agencies have also imposed mandatory taxes.

The World Bank has also disclosed that four million Nigerians were pushed into poverty in the first six months of this year, with another 7.1 million more expected to join the poverty trap if fuel subsidy removal isn’t managed well.

In a post shared on his Instagram story, Paul said Nigeria is about to ‘’take off’.
