Niger’s commanding 4-0 victory over Sudan on Thursday in Togo has reignited Ghana’s hopes of qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Niger’s forward Daniel Sosah, who has Ghanaian roots, starred with a brace, while Ousseini Badamassi and Youssef Oumarou added further goals, leaving Group F wide open for an intense conclusion.

Angola have already secured qualification, but the win means Sudan, Ghana, and Niger all remain in contention for the final spot.

Sudan currently holds the advantage, requiring just a point against Angola in their last match to seal qualification.

For Ghana, the path to qualification is challenging, needing a win over Angola on Friday followed by another victory against Niger, all while hoping Angola defeats Sudan.

Niger, meanwhile, can also secure a spot by beating Ghana and hoping Sudan loses. Ghana will face Angola at the 11 de Novembro Stadium in Luanda, with the match set to kick off at 7 pm local time.
