The National Labour Commission (NLC) has successfully secured an injunction to halt the planned strike by the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG).

The decision was issued by Justice Frank Aboadwe Rockson of the High Court of Justice Industrial/Labour Division in Accra on November 7, 2024.
The court granted the injunction following the NLC’s motion for an interlocutory injunction, supported by an affidavit from NLC Executive Secretary, Ofosu Asamoah.
This ruling mandates CLOGSAG’s executives, members, and affiliates to immediately stop any ongoing strike activities and adhere to the NLC’s prior directives from November 6, 2024.
The official court order stated, “IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the Respondent, their Executive Officers, Members, Agents, Servants, Employees and other Persons are restrained from further continuation of their strike action from 7th November 2024.”
The order further emphasized, “IT IS HEREBY FURTHER ORDERED that the Respondent by itself, its Executives, Officers, Members, Agents, Servants, Employees and other Persons are to comply with the directives of the National Labour Commission dated 6th November 2024 and call off the industrial action.”
This ruling underscores the court’s commitment to maintaining uninterrupted government services while CLOGSAG’s grievances are addressed within the legal framework established by the NLC.
