President Akufo-Addo emphasized his authority over development projects nationwide during a speech at an NPP rally in Ejisu on April 28, 2024.
He asserted his final say in road construction projects across Ghana, addressing a crowd gathered for the by-election rally.

The president questioned a former MP, Kwabena Aduomi, who is running as an independent candidate, about the roads constructed since his removal.
Akufo-Addo stated, “I don’t say this to boast but there is no road that can be constructed in Ghana without my permission. From today till 7th of January, the government in power is an NPP government led by Akufo-Addo”
He urged the crowd to elect an NPP MP to effectively communicate with an NPP president. The president also highlighted the importance of maintaining the NPP’s slim majority in Parliament to facilitate his government’s agenda in its final months.
The Ejisu by-election, scheduled for April 30, 202stinian, follows the death of Dr. John Kumah, the former deputy finance minister, on March 7, 2024. The NDC has opted out of the by-election to focus on the national election.
