The Oguaa Traditional Council has banned noise-making from August 6 to August 22, 2024, to prepare for the Fetu Festival in Cape Coast.

The festival, which happens in early September, celebrates a good harvest and honors 77 local deities.

During this time, people are asked not to quarrel, pound fufu after 6 pm, play drums or loud music, wail loudly, or fish in the Fosu Lagoon until September 3.

Funerals are also not allowed until September 21, 2024. These rules are meant to keep things peaceful and respectful before the festival.
