The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has expressed its intention to replicate the U.S. Republican Party’s success in Ghana’s upcoming December elections.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the NPP congratulated President-Elect Donald Trump and Vice President-Elect J.D. Vance on their victory in the 2024 U.S. elections, viewing it as a reaffirmation of their party’s vision.

The NPP also commended the peaceful conduct of the U.S. elections, noting that it serves as a valuable lesson for Ghana as the country prepares for its own elections on December 7, 2024.

The statement emphasized the NPP’s longstanding ties with the Republican Party, highlighting shared values and symbols, including the elephant, which represents their political ideology.

“We are thrilled to see that centre-right philosophies are gaining global support,” the statement read.

Confident in their own chances, the NPP expressed optimism that, like their American counterparts, they would achieve victory in the December elections, driven by their commitment to bold, forward-looking policies for Ghana’s development.

The NPP concluded by reiterating congratulations to the Republican Party and wishing the incoming Trump administration success, with hopes of strengthening bilateral relations for mutual growth and benefit.
