Dennis Miracles Aboagye, Communications Director for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign, has condemned the actions of an Electoral Commission (EC) official involved in electoral misconduct.
Aboagye has called for the prompt prosecution of the EC official, following the arrest of Dery Joseph, an EC official in Kintampo South, Bono East Region, for electoral offences during the 2024 general election.

The police have confirmed that Joseph is under investigation for issuing approximately 15 ballots at the Ampesika Bayere polling station that omitted Dr. Bawumia’s name, a violation of electoral laws.
Addressing journalists in Accra on December 7, Miracles proposed punishment for the suspect to deter others from committing the same offence, describing the incident as “worrying and sad.”
“This is a very worrying situation, it’s a very sad situation, and it’s something that we need to condemn. The NPP is calling for Joseph Dery’s immediate prosecution. Because whatever he has done is a deliberate attempt to disenfranchise Ghanaian voters.”
He encouraged members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and party agents at the various polling stations to be vigilant to thwart any future occurrences.
