The New Patriotic Party (NPP) wishes to announce the commencement of registration for additional categories of delegates who will participate in the Party’s upcoming Presidential Primary, scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026.

This decision follows a resolution adopted at the National Annual Delegates Conference held on July 19, 2025, in Accra, aimed at broadening participation and ensuring inclusiveness in the Party’s internal democratic processes.

The updated voter register, also referred to as the “album,” will now include the following groups:

  • Former Regional and Constituency Executives
  • Members of the Council of Elders and Patrons
  • Past Members of Parliament
  • Former Ministers and Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs)
  • Past and current TESCON (Tertiary Students Confederacy) Leaders
  • Current and Former External Branch Executives

All qualified individuals are expected to register with their respective regional, constituency, or external branch offices. In addition, an online registration platform will be provided to facilitate participation, particularly for members of the diaspora.

The registration exercise will officially close on Friday, September 19, 2025. Following the deadline, the Presidential Elections Committee will conduct a full verification and validation of the register to ensure its integrity and credibility.

The Party wishes to emphasize that only persons who meet the stipulated eligibility criteria will be permitted to register and vote in the Presidential Primary.

The NPP remains fully committed to conducting its internal elections in a manner that is fair, transparent, and credible.

The Party believes this process will further strengthen its democratic structures and uphold the values of inclusiveness and accountability as preparations advance toward the 2026 Presidential Primary and the subsequent 2028 General Elections.
