Zackary Abubakari, the Nasara Coordinator of the NPP in Trakwa Nsuaem, Western Region, has angered his party by openly endorsing Issah Salifu Taylor, the NDC’s parliamentary candidate.
During the Tafsr ceremony in Tarkwa, attended by numerous Muslims, including Taylor, Zackary surprised many by supporting Alhaji Taylor.
When Zackary Abubakari, the NPP Nasara Coordinator, addressed the audience, he emphasized the historic opportunity of electing Issah Taylor as the first Muslim MP for the area.
He urged voters to support Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP flagbearer, and also back the NDC parliamentary candidate, rather than the incumbent NPP MP, George Mireku Duker.
Despite the presence of Benjamin Kessie, the Municipal Chief Executive, Zackary highlighted the importance of electing a Muslim representative for the first time, suggesting it would be a rewarding decision for the community.

During his address from the podium, Zackary Abubakari, the NPP Nasara Coordinator, stressed the importance of unity and advancement. He specifically noted Taylor’s ability to positively impact the constituency.
The Punch newspaper reported that Mireku Duker, the area’s MP and Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, expressed displeasure with Zackary’s declaration.
