Salam Mustapha, the National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has praised the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) for ending its strike and resuming academic activities at the University of Ghana.

“It was a great delight to receive the news that UTAG has called off its strike,” Mustapha stated, adding, “I am immensely pleased with this development and commend UTAG for their commitment.”
On October 28, 2024, Mustapha released a statement urging the resumption of academic work at public universities, emphasizing that his appeal was in the best interest of students.
“I was mindful of the students’ academic progress and their constitutional right to vote, as many are registered on campus,” he explained.
Mustapha acknowledged concerns from both students and faculty about the disruption to the academic calendar, noting, “I have had productive discussions with UTAG executives and members who expressed serious concern about the prolonged strike’s potential impact on the adjusted academic schedule.”
He concluded by expressing his appreciation for UTAG’s dedication to the academic community.
“Once again, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to UTAG and its leaders for their goodwill, commitment, and service to Ghanaian students. The NPP Youth Wing says Ayeekoo,” he affirmed, signaling optimism for a smooth academic year ahead.
