The Assin Kyekyewere District Court has remanded Ebenezer Dwamena, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary candidate for Twifo Atti-Morkwa, into police custody.
Dame A faces charges of conspiracy to defraud by false pretenses and false pretenses under Section 131 of the Criminal and Other Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).
The case arises from a situation where Dwamena, after purchasing a vehicle from a car dealer, introduced friends to the dealer.
Although the car dealer received payment for the vehicle, he failed to deliver it, leading the buyers to take legal action.
The court has remanded Dwamena while the matter is forwarded to the Attorney General’s Office for further advice.
