The NPP is organizing the parliamentary primary to choose a candidate.

The vetting committee cleared all nine candidates for the internal poll on April 6, 2024. Since the party commenced nominations on April 2, 2024, they have been picking up forms to compete in the NPP parliamentary primary for the Ejisu constituency.

The EC has scheduled the by-election for April 30, 2024.Kwame Baffoe Abronye, the Regional Chairman of the NPP in Bono, has raised serious concerns about the ongoing voting process in the Ejisu Constituency, where his wife is competing in the party’s parliamentary primary.

According to Abronye, there appears to be collusion between the Electoral Commission and the constituency chairman, who is a member of the election committee, to unfairly influence the outcome in favor of one particular candidate among the nine contestants.Abronye, in a video shared by Asaaseradio, appears visibly upset, stating, “When it comes to elections, nobody knows elections like me.

Every election starts with zonal areas. When you start with one electoral area, you must finish and go to the next electoral area. But they tilted the thing.

This arrangement is bad, the constituency chairman who is part of the election committee is following a particular candidate, he is the one who did the list with the EC.

He has connived with the EC.”The Member of Parliament for Ejisu Constituency, John Kumah, passed away on March 7, 2024, leading to the need for a by-election in the area.
