Kwesi Botchway Jnr, a member of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Communications Team, has expressed confidence in the party’s ability to win the 2024 elections without any external influence.
He emphasized that the NPP has implemented effective strategies to secure victory, thanks in part to the credibility and integrity of their candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Speaking on Accra-based United Television, Botchway stated, “The NPP doesn’t require any manipulation of the electoral process to emerge victorious. Our candidate’s reputation is unblemished, and his eight years of service as Vice President have been scandal-free.”
He further emphasized that the NPP is self-assured in its ability to defeat the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming elections, without relying on the Electoral Commission’s assistance. “The NDC’s attempts to discredit the electoral process are unfounded, as they failed to provide evidence of rigging in the 2020 elections despite taking the matter to court.”
Botchway noted that the NDC’s strategy of casting doubt on the electoral process is a repeat of their 2020 tactics, which proved unsuccessful. He believes the NDC has not learned from their past defeats in 2016 and 2020 and is destined to face another loss in 2024. “We trust in the independence of the Electoral Commission and are confident in our ability to win the elections fair and square.”
