President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed his confidence in the newly formed ticket of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, describing their partnership as “excellent”.
He believes this ticket will lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to victory in the 2024 general elections.
Dr. Bawumia thanked the NPP’s National Council for endorsing his running mate, Dr. Opoku Prempeh, and expressed his gratitude on Facebook.
“I thank the National Council for their unanimous endorsement of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as my running mate. To God be the glory,” he wrote.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh also showed his appreciation for the endorsement and pledged to support Dr. Bawumia in the upcoming elections.
In his acceptance speech, he acknowledged the task ahead and called for collective effort from all NPP members to achieve their goal of transforming Ghana into a prosperous nation.
“I am deeply honored to be nominated by our distinguished flagbearer, H.E. Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and endorsed unanimously by the National Council,” Dr. Opoku Prempeh said.
“I am privileged and duty-bound to extend my full support to Dr. Bawumia as we work together to realize his visionary agenda of propelling Ghana to greater heights.”
He expressed his gratitude to President Akufo-Addo, the National Council, and the party’s rank-and-file for their support.
“I call upon all our members to join hands as we collectively strive to achieve our ambitious goal of transforming Ghana into a prosperous nation,” he added.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh’s statement emphasized his commitment to serving alongside Dr. Bawumia and working towards a brighter future for Ghana.
He concluded with a message of service and leadership, thanking everyone for their support.
