Stephen Ayesu Ntim, the National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), expressed the party’s opposition to the activities of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) community in Ghana. Ntim emphasized the NPP’s dedication to upholding Ghana’s longstanding values and traditions.

According to him, the NPP is focused on addressing the concerns of Ghanaians across the nation, but the LGBTQ+ agenda is not among their priorities. During the party’s thanksgiving service to mark the one-year anniversary of its National Executives in office, Ntim affirmed that the NPP firmly opposes any systematic efforts to normalize LGBTQ+ and related behaviors in Ghana, as they are not part of the country’s heritage.
