Former National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammi Awuku, has expressed absolute confidence in the party’s victory in the 2024 general elections.

Speaking at the 2024 International Young Democrat Union (IYDU) Conference in Accra, Awuku attributed the party’s success to its strategy and policy superiority.

Awuku, now a parliamentary candidate for Akuapem North, emphasized the significance of the IYDU conference, which brought global attention to Ghana’s election.

He highlighted the Union’s role in the NPP’s 2016 victory and urged the party’s youth to rally behind the quest for a convincing victory.

Awuku stressed the importance of belief in the party’s working format, saying, “Policy to policy, the NPP stands tall; strategy-wise, the NPP stands tall.”

Current National Youth Organiser, Salam Mustapha, pledged his commitment to leading the NPP’s youth to victory while upholding the party’s ideological tenets.

The IYDU conference featured speeches from leading political figures, including IYDU Chairman Michael Dust, who assured support for the NPP.

Other speakers included Ghana’s Youth and Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif, Communication Minister Ursula Owusu Ekuful, and former IYDU Vice Chairman Charles Owiredu.

The conference included panel discussions on advancing democracy, women’s empowerment, and leveraging technology.

Awuku emphasized the need for the party’s supporters to believe in the working format, saying, “We can count our numbers; we pray our colleagues can collate their numbers.”

The conference concluded on June 29, 2024, with a renewed sense of purpose among the Centre-Right political youth organisations.
