The National Sports Authority (NSA) has closed the Accra Sports Stadium and Cape Coast Stadium for “minor” renovation works.

This follows the closure of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium for maintenance about a week ago, after CAF withdrew its approval of the venue for Black Stars’ home matches in the AFCON 2025 qualifiers.

Ghana is now racing to prepare a stadium for their AFCON 2025 qualifier against Sudan in early October.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports has directed the GFA to engage CAF for inspections of the Accra Sports Stadium and the University of Ghana Stadium to determine their suitability.

Currently, Ghana faces the possibility of hosting the match abroad, with Togo being considered as an alternative location unless a local stadium is ready in time.

The Black Stars are third in Group F of the qualifiers with one point from two matches.
