Minister of State in Charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has warned that Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, Ranking Member on Parliament’s Interior and Defence Committee, could face arrest if he fails to honour an invitation from the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) over alleged suspicious flights into Ghana.

Speaking on Citi FM’s Eyewitness News on Friday, April 4, Kwakye Ofosu rejected Fordjour’s claim that he was never invited. He clarified that the invitation was delivered through Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, who initially agreed to facilitate Fordjour’s appearance but later claimed the MP was acting in his committee capacity.
Nonetheless, Kwakye Ofosu stressed that the NIB has formally requested Fordjour’s presence for questioning.
“If he says he wasn’t invited, that’s false. The NIB wrote to the Speaker requesting his release for investigations. He must appear—if he doesn’t, he’ll be arrested. And when he does, he should back his claims with evidence,” he said.
Kwakye Ofosu also slammed the MP for making baseless allegations about two aircraft allegedly transporting drugs and money into the country.
“The last thing an MP should do is spread such childish lies. These aren’t just falsehoods—they’re immature and without a shred of evidence,” he added.
Kwakye Ofosu further accused Fordjour of using Parliament as a tool for propaganda, stating, “He is engaging in childish propaganda. Lies that do not make any sense. If there was any evidence, he would have presented it before anyone invited him.”
The case remains under investigation, with growing pressure on Fordjour to provide evidence or retract his claims.
