The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate in the Okaikwei South, Ernest Adomako, has accused the Electoral Commission (EC) of allegedly importing about 1,083 illegal names onto the voters roll ahead of the December 7 general elections.

Ernest Adomako made the allegations after filing his nomination forms on Tuesday, September 10, at the EC office in Kaneshie, Accra.

According to the NDC candidate, letters have been sent to the EC twice regarding the matter, but no feedback has been received.

He, however, noted that their next course of action would not be made public but urged the EC to take steps to rectify the anomalies.

Adomako is seeking to unseat the NPP Member of Parliament, Darkoa Newman, who is seeking a second term.

Meanwhile, the National Chairman of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has urged party supporters to visit EC offices across the country on September 18 to protest what they describe as error-riddled register unfit for the December 7 general elections.

The party has already notified the police and is calling for a forensic audit ahead of their demonstration.
