Oliver Barker-Vormawor, leader of the activist group Democracy Hub, has been granted bail of GHC20,000 with two sureties by an Accra High Court.
The activist was arrested during the Democracy Hub protest and faced various charges related to unlawful acts. Despite previous bail denials, the court allowed him bail on the condition that he reports to the police twice a week.

Barker-Vormawor had been denied bail three times since his September 23, 2024, arrest.
The activist, along with 52 other protesters, was accused of staging an unlawful protest, with charges ranging from unlawful assembly to assaulting a public officer.
While most of the protesters have been granted bail, Barker-Vormawor was the last to secure his release.
This ruling follows a string of bail grants for other protesters earlier in October, with varying amounts imposed by different court divisions.
The protest itself was part of an anti-galamsey demonstration in Accra.
