Oliver Barker-Vormawor, the leader of the Democracy Hub, has entered a not guilty plea to multiple charges, including conspiracy to commit unlawful assembly, unlawful damage, offensive conduct conducive to a breach of peace, assault on a public officer, defacement of public property, and theft.

His plea comes after he was absent from court on Wednesday due to health issues.
Barker-Vormawor appeared in court alongside 11 others, with their pleas being taken on Wednesday.
The court is expected to rule on whether to grant bail to the accused.
Barker-Vormawor was arrested following allegations of unlawful activities during the group’s demonstration over the weekend.
The Ghana Police Service had previously issued a notice declaring Barker-Vormawor wanted for his involvement in the protests held on September 21-22. Despite this, Barker-Vormawor denied any attempt to evade authorities, labeling the accusations as “baseless and misleading” in a Facebook post.
According to a police statement, his arrest is related to “various unlawful acts” that occurred at the 37 Intersection in Accra, where the protest took place.
On Wednesday, the Ghana Police Service denied claims that they had denied medical care to Barker-Vormawor, clarifying that he and another group member, Fanny Otoo, had been admitted to the Police Hospital after reporting health issues.
