One arrested in Okaikwei South for possessing a pistol

A person was arrested at the St. Theresa’s School polling station in the Okaikwei South Constituency after verbally attacking an Electoral Commission official early on December 7, before voting began at Center 2.

Following a tip-off, it was revealed that the individual, an NDC party agent, was allegedly carrying a pistol. The police swiftly arrested the suspect and transported him to the Kaneshie Police Station.

In a separate incident, an Electoral Commission official was arrested in the Kintampo South Constituency in Bono East for electoral offences.

The suspect, whose name is given as Dery Joseph, according to the police, is under investigation for issuing about 15 ballots to voters that omitted the first presidential candidates at the Ampesika Bayere polling station.
