One dead, several properties destroyed in fire outbreak at Atonsu Bokuro

A fire at Atonsu Bokuro in the Asokwa Municipality of the Ashanti Region has claimed one life and caused extensive property damage.

The incident, which occurred around 8:30 a.m. on Monday, November 18, resulted in the destruction of approximately nine rooms and the loss of several belongings.

The victim, 17-year-old Jerry, was reportedly asleep in one of the rooms when the fire broke out. The Ghana National Fire Service responded swiftly and managed to control the fire.

However, Asokwa Municipal Fire Commander Bernard Nyemi-Tei highlighted that gaining access to the building posed significant challenges for the rescue team.

The body of the deceased has been transferred to the morgue by the Ghana Police Service.
