Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President and Flagbearer of the NPP, has been honored by the Province of Ontario, Canada, for his exceptional leadership and commitment to humanitarian causes.
At a special event held at the Miracle Arena for All Nations in Ontario, Canada, on Sunday, May 26, Dr. Bawumia was recognized for his innovative approaches to addressing societal challenges, including the use of drones to deliver essential medical supplies to remote communities in Ghana.

Presenting the award on behalf of the Province of Ontario and the Canadian Religious and Cultural Council (CRCC), Honorable Member of Provincial Parliament David Smith praised Dr. Bawumia’s leadership, citing his efforts to promote tolerance, respect for diversity, and peace in communities and nations.
Dr. Bawumia emphasized the importance of embracing diversity and fostering a culture of tolerance, highlighting Ghana’s unique approach to religious coexistence and its reputation for peace.
The Vice President also shared with the international audience several initiatives undertaken by the Government of Ghana, which have positively impacted the nation.
The audience was particularly impressed by Ghana’s innovative use of drones to deliver critical medical supplies to remote areas, earning Dr. Bawumia a standing ovation.
Honorable David Smith, speaking on behalf of the Province of Ontario, commended Dr. Bawumia for his nation-building efforts, both in Ghana and among the diaspora.
“The Province of Ontario recognizes your outstanding leadership and commitment to using technology to address challenges in Ghana, particularly the drone medical delivery service,” he said, presenting a plaque to Dr. Bawumia.
