The Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) team has clarified that it has not extended invitations to anyone to assist in its investigations into corrupt activities.

Daniel Yao Domelevo, a member of the team, explained that individuals voluntarily approach the committee with information on corruption, rather than being invited to do so.

This clarification comes in response to the Minority in Parliament’s assertion urging individuals to boycott alleged invitations from the ORAL Committee.

The Minority contends that the committee lacks the legal authority to investigate corruption-related offenses, emphasizing that such matters fall under the jurisdiction of legally mandated institutions.

In response to the Minority’s statement, Mr. Domelevo clarified that no one has been invited by the ORAL team.

“To the best of my knowledge, we have invited nobody. It is only people who are ready to come and give us information that we collect information from.

“I am yet to see one person who we called or wrote him to say appear before the committee. We have not done that. We cannot investigate. We don’t know when it will end because people keep coming with new information.”
