The Volta Lake Transport Company (VLTC) ferry on the River Oti is back in service and has cleared the backlog of vehicles stuck on either side of the river.

The ferry was out of service last Friday because of a broken propeller at Dordoe-Korpe in the Krachi Nchumuru District. Tragically, Kofi Twee, a 55-year-old diver for the company, was killed by the malfunctioning propeller. This caused long delays and queues.

Mr. Daniel Andy Peprah-Agyei, the Public Relations Officer, said that all the stranded vehicles and passengers were moved to their destinations by Sunday evening. The mechanics worked hard to fix and test the propeller to ensure it was safe.

He thanked everyone for their patience and cooperation. Some passengers have asked the government to build a bridge to make crossing safer and solve their transportation problems.
